EESTEC Soft Skills Academy Project
The Soft Skills Academy Patras event is a seminar in which students are given the opportunity to attend and participate for free in a set of experiential trainings on soft skills. But at this point, you may be wondering: what are soft skills? These are elements of our character, related to our interaction with others. How do we behave in a group, how do we make decisions, how do we organize ourselves, how do we manage our time? The skills that help us do all that are soft skills.
The soft skills trainings are conducted by certified EESTEC Trainers, representatives of consulting/HR companies and other experts in the field of soft skills. In Patras, the Soft Skills Academy has been held five times with the last one in March 2023. Of course, we should note that this seminar is part of the international project EESTEC Soft Skills Academy which was created in 2015, and since then SSA events have been held in more than 12 cities every year. The goal of the project is to develop the students both on a personal an professional level, through the trainings and the development of soft skills.
Soft Skills Academy of EESTEC LC Patras
The 7th Soft Skills Academy of EESTEC LC Patras took place on 4th-5th March with 60 participants, having the theme of “Success is an Iceberg”, at Adonis Hotel. During these two days, the participants had the opportunity to attend two of the following sessions::
- “Self-Motivation”, by EESTEC Trainers Anastasia Utziola and Mikaela Tsakalidou.
- “How to Fail”, by EESTEC Trainers Ioanna Tsakalidou and Ioanna Korkovili.
- “Habits Management and Productivity”, by EESTEC Trainers Maira Andrikopoulou and Leonidas Avdelas.
- “Consistency and Priorities/Sacrifices”by EESTEC Trainers Giorgos Daniil and Dimitris Dedemadis.
On Tuesday , 28th of February 2023,, took place the introductory seminar at the Moxy Hotel, in which speeches were made about EESTEC, the Soft Skills Academy, and also, the participants got to know the company that supported the event: Deloitte.
The 5th Soft Skills Academy of EESTEC LC Patras took place virtually with the subject “Pursuit”, meaning the human's search of happiness and self-realization. In these three days of 6th-8th of March, it was given the opportunity to 45 students of the University of Patras, that they were selected between 220 220 candidates, to attend 4 three-hour interactive seminars with the subjects:
- “Targeting”, by the EESTEC Trainers Marianna Dimitriadou and Adam Mantadakis.
- “Personal leadership and interpersonal relationships”, by the EESTEC Trainers Evita Tsami and Foteini Lamprogeorgou.
- “Stress management”, by the EESTEC Trainers Lina Douskou and Mikaela Tsakalidou.
- “Continuous development: One step at a time”, by the representatives of our gold sponsor "Agile Actors", Nora Gikopoulou and Olga Kyriakou.
On the 26th of February 2021, took place the introductory seminar the seminar with the title “Soft skills: Pursue your better self!”, where there were given speeches about EESTEC, the Soft Skills Academy, and as well as how soft skills are used in our sponsoring companies, Agile Actors and CollegeLink.
Finally, as part of the Soft Skills Academy, it took place on 11th of March 2021 a webinar by our communications sponsor, CollegeLink, titled "How to make a resume that will stand out!". The speakers, Anastasia Karagiozoglou, Talent Acquisition Manager, and Yiannis Ymelos, CEO & Co-founder, gave the attendees very important information and tips for creating a resume!
The 4th Soft Skills Academy (SSA), took place on the weekend of November 23rd-24th, 2019, at IEK Euroteam Patras and was attended by 40 participants, afterthe choice between 160 applications. During these two days, the participants attended 4-hour interactive seminars on the following topics:
- Motivation Theory and Internal Human Needs | EESTEC Trainers: Giorgos Daniil and Evangelia Tsami.
- Getting Things Done: How to be more productive by setting realistic goals and managing your time. | EESTEC Trainer: Maria Stathopoulou.
- The benefits of Lean and Agile methods in the organizational structures of large companies | Despina Papachrysanthou, representative of the company Teleperformance Greece.
The 3rd Soft Skills Academy of EESTEC Patras took place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th of April 2019, at POS4work.
In total, 40 students participated in the two-day event, following a selection process among 139 applications. They attended 4-hour interactive seminars on Teamwork and Crisis Management in groups, Creative Thinking, Emotional Intelligence and Communication Skills.
10 days before the two-day seminar, took place the well established introductory seminar at the Chamber of Achaia, so that interested parties could be informed about the program, familiarize themselves with the concept of soft skills and get to know the organizers and Trainers of the event better. The day consisted of speeches by Georgia Kourou – president of EESTEC Patras 2018-19, Despina Papachrysanthou – Transformational Leadership Consultant of Teleperformance Greece and Grigoris Archimandritis – founder of the NGO InterMediaKT.

After the great success of the 1st Soft Skills Academy, the 2nd SSA of EESTEC Patras took place on Saturday 12 and Sunday 12 May 2018, at POS4work. The two-day event was attended by 44 students, who attended 4-hour interactive seminars on Teamwork and Emotional Intelligence, Communication Skills and Productivity.
10 days before the two-day seminar, was held an introductory seminar so that potential interested parties can be informed about the program, familiarize themselves with the concept of soft skills and get to know the organizers and Trainers of the event better. The day consisted of speeches by the president of EESTEC Patras and Grigoris Archimandritis – founder of the NGO InterMediaKT.

Inspired by the great success of the EESTEC SSA Project throughout Europe, EESTEC Patras organized the 1st Soft Skills Academy on Saturday, May 13, 2017.
The training sessions were oriented towards learning skills that help each person interact with those around them and were aimed at improving communication skills and crisis management.
